Pressed Fern II
Pressed Fern II
At Sweet Olive, we are drawn to the fern’s symbolism of rebirth and growth.
Each Sweet Olive Heirloom specimen is gathered in the woods, bayous and gardens that surround our home in south Louisiana. After pressing for many weeks, your piece is sealed between two pieces of glass and framed in brass using a traditional stained glass technique. Because nature is unique and ever changing, your SOH botanical is one of a kind. No two pieces are alike.
This fern was collected in the Atchafalaya Basin.
It measures 6 1/2 inches x 11 1/2 inches.
The graceful fern is one of the most ancient botanical species. A common site near our home, bright green fronds announce the arrival of spring and in some areas, the woodland floor is completely covered with their brilliant color. For centuries and among many cultures, the fern has held symbolic meaning - sincerity, magic, fascination, confidence, shelter and even a secret bond of love.
At Sweet Olive, we are drawn to the fern’s symbolism of rebirth and growth. With each new day, their tiny, tight spirals reach for the light and before long; it completely unrolls to reveal beautiful new life. This delightful act of nature reminds us that we can do the same.
